Mica is a leading independent hardware group owned by a retailer co-operative, which has over 160 independent trading members. It was founded more than 29 years ago by a group of store owners with the ambition to bring a community hardware store to every town. The hardware combines the buying power of the group with the expertise of its individual store owners to deliver an extensive value for money exchange.
The number of outlets expanded as corporate owned stores opened to compliment the trading member platform, after a corporate company acquired the Mica brand in 2004.
Today, Mica is once again a member owned brand where the man who owns the store, runs the store. This level of brand ownership among members has contributed to stores outperforming all past achievements.
